Overwhelmed all the sudden...

Eeek. It's just really sinking in that in 12 days I will be having my surgery! How crazy is that! I had my nutritional class yesterday! That was sooo much fun (NOT) but it was informative. I went today and bought most of the vitamins I will need!

I also bought me a pair of Crocs wooohooo! okay so maybe the fashion is starting to get old or whatever but I'm excited!

They gave me an Indiana Appointment of Health Care representative form as well as a living will. This stuff is scary to think about but I know that it is a risk of any surgical procedure! Therefore I am filling them out.

I bought an extra sippy cup  and baby spoon today for myself (they give you them but I bought one extra of each) but still haven't found the condiment cups I need, looks like I'll have to go to Sams club or something to find them. Anyways I guess thats all for now!!

I'm excited but very overwhelmed!!

Most of us here know what you are feeling. I almost canceled my surgery 2 days before surgery, but now, here I am 185 pounds less than I was 8 months ago (Today, to be exact), and I would not change a thing.  I wouldnt go buy condiment cups. When you are in the hospital, there will be plenty of the little medicine cups. Pick those up. Most of them are washable, so I wouldnt spend money on those.  Hoping for a quick recovery!! S.

I bought little Chinese style dipping saucers.  They were the perfect miniature size to make my 2 oz meals looks huge. Hang in there.   You can make it through this.  And you'll be SO glad you did. Blessings,

Annette
I can eat as much as I want...I just don't want much.
I'm ashamed of what I did for a Klondike bar...

I probally wont do the cups afterall. Atleast not until I find a job!!! Did it seem the last couple weeks before surgery like you get hungry more often all the sudden? I swear I have no had hardly any appetite for the longest time, definately not a food addict or anything like that but lately I just feel the NEED to eat anything that is placed in front of me. Whats going on???????? I've done soo good following my low cal/low carb diet for so long and now it seems like it's all gone out the window??

Misty, Hang in there girl, you are so close!!!  Remember i am only a few miles from you if you need anything let me know. i have some cups i used after surgery,  i used up the little medicine cups i got at the hospital and then i bought some 4 oz. ziplock cups with lids and filled them half way up, as i increased the amount of food i ate i could tell by that 4 oz cup how much i was eating.  i froze stuff in them like when you open a can of soup, and there is no way you are gonna eat the whole can so i put it in those little cups and froze it and when  i wanted it i just popped it in the microwave.  I have some of those you can have.  I will be in Seymour once in a while so maybe we can meet some where or what ever and i can drop you off some stuff i have.  I was nervous the last few days before my surgery but the morning i was headed to St. V. i had an amazing calm feeling, i wanted the surgery so bad and i knew it was the beginning of a new life for me.  I started out wearing a size 22/24 and today i put on a pair of size 6 jeans.  Its just a reminder to me that it is all worth it.  I feel great and my hypertention is gone, my asthma is gone, my reflux is gone, my knees dont hurt any more and many other little things, i can walk several miles and not get tired.  its so worth it Misty, I am so happy for you that you are beginning this new chapter in your life.  good Luck, Carla

I got the 2 oz condiment cups at the kitchen collection at the outlet mall but the other day I was at Meijer and in the kitchen section they have 3 oz condiment cups for 99 cents I think. I was seriously thinking of getting some more but talked myself out of them.  They are great when you want to eat a full 2 oz of the same food. It makes you think you are really eating alot especially when you are eating so SLOW!!! I had also bought another sippy cup. It helps when trying to get in my milk mixture for the day.  I am now 8 days out from surgery. I went to my family doctor yesterday and have not lost anything yet. Still working on what I gained while in the hospital My lower abdomen has been so swollen and bruised. Today I think it might be closer to pre surgery size. I don't have the soreness that I had in the beginning. It keeps getting better every day. I'm increasing my protein and exercise and I think that is helping alot.
